Senior Web Developer – San Francisco, CA

SendMe Inc, the fastest growing direct to consumer mobile start-up in the US, is looking for an experienced web developer to play a key role in shaping the architecture, functionality, UI and overall user experience for our ever expanding portfolio of products.

We are seeking a talented and technically-savvy software engineer help us create dynamic and elegant web UIs using advanced techniques with JavaScript, DHTML, AJAX, and JSP. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience designing modular, responsive, and sophisticated web UIs for consumer-oriented sites/products. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience packing lots of functionality in client-side web development and should be prepared to take a technical and functional leadership role in a fast-paced environment. We value interaction and feedback: web developers should be constantly engaged and interested in ways to improve the user experience - we see immersive web to mobile experiences as a key component of the success of our brands.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of advanced web development experience building responsive and elegant web UI's for consumer-oriented sites/products
• Strong development background with Javascript, DHTML, XHTML, AJAX, JSP
• Fluent with HTML/CSS
• Hands-on experience developing DOM-based web software applications supporting multiple browsers in a Linux / Apache environment
• Comfortable utilizing command-line version control (CVS) and other shell scripting in a non-WYSIWYG environment
• Experience interfacing with data-driven applications
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger product / engineering team
• Proficient with at least one JavaScript debugger (Firebug, Venkman, etc.)
• BSCS or equivalent

A plus to have any of the following:

• UI framework experience: GWT, Dojo, YUI, Prototype, etc.
• Good OO design skills and understanding of design patterns
• WAP, Perl, PHP, Actionscript (Flash) development
• Familiarity with Java web presentation framework(s)
• Good skills with SQL (MySQL preferred)
• Understanding of ORM concepts and tools: Hibernate, JDO, etc.
• Degree from a competitive school
